The whole of the country was in chaos yesterday with public transport suspended(you can see here the metro shutters are down),schools closed and public sector workers striking for BETTER PENSION DEALS. You can see some of the strikers in the background.(Go here to see what the LOCAL PAPER headline was).

well some of us had to work! my daughter took over 2 hrs t get home, would hve been quicker for her to walk. Do strikes really help? i've never been in a union but from what i have seen workers in the UK just manage to lose pay when they strike and the Government or employers continue to do what they want. I may be wrong, but thats my opinion.

some days ago, i watched on Sky news some even demonstrated in nude..pity them standing there in cold weather. Hope good news will come out of this ! Good b/w shot !!

A strike there is very bad. It's hard for people to get about. Here in Atlanta it wouldn't phase most people, everybody drives, Now New York would be in a world of hurt. when the taxis went on strike the city came to a stop.
